Jodee Knowles
Perth born artist Jodee Knowles draws portraits of female figures with dripping eyes. Simultaneously astonishing and heartbreaking, the drawings portray unbuckling human emotion and experience.
Knowles finds her inspiration within fashion and other strong individuals in her life, yet her work essentially depicts confusion and troubling human experiences.
“My portraits are a reflection of one’s memories and expectations, in which the concept of an intoxicating other is celebrated or hated by thematically dealing with the feeling of being torn between addiction and satisfaction – between excess and boredom.”
First ever Tokyo exhibit!
Jodee's character's express a wide range of emotion, but generally center upon the trials and tribulations of being female in a manner that connects to every viewer.
While her physical pieces are mainly mixed media, working together with TOTEMO, Jodee has created the first representation of her several characters living in a virtual space.
Jodee says, "These characters have lived in my brain for so long. Technology can bring them to life. I am excited to be promoting my first ever available NFT pieces so the audience can see my wider dreams."
